Dave’s father started him in the harness business, along with his brothers Jim, Art and Neal. His first job was with Stanley Dancer at the age of 15, where he worked for 13 years. Dave has raced at DuQuoin, Ill, Liberty Bell, Pa., Del., NY, NH, VT, OH, Ken., Mass., Ind. and Mich. (Motor City Pace). He has been at Saratoga for the last 37 years. The high point of his career was taking care of Noble Victory for Stanley Dancer; from putting his first harness on until Noble’s retirement. Noble won 29 races before he was beat (19 as a 2-yr-old and 10 as a 3-yr-old). Noble retired after his 3rd year.

The best horse he trained was Noble Victory. Some of his favorites were Vicky Lynn Hanover, Stacked Call, Brets Holland, Jackie B, Farmer Bob and Champagne Comanche (claimed for $3000 and raced on up to the open trot, winning several times there, earning Champagne Comanche 2003 Claiming Trotter of the Year. Dave won his first race as a driver in Hinsdale, New Hampshire (1970) with Noble K. Dave enjoys visiting with his 5 grandchildren, NASCAR, football and playing cards. Dave was voted into the Saratoga Harness Hall of Fame June, 2008. Dave trained mostly 2 and 3 year olds in 2008.
