2010 Live Racing Schedule

Discover the excitement of live harness racing

Saratoga Springs has a long tradition rich in horse racing history. That tradition was enhanced in 1941, when the first live harness race was held on our beautiful half-mile track. Today, people can view live races outside at the rail, in the lower clubhouse, in the Grandstand, or Fortunes Restaurant. In addition to live harness racing, patrons can watch and wager on tracks from around the country on one of the many TV’s located in the Mezzanine. The 68th harness racing season concluded on December 13, 2009.

2009 Highlights:

  • Frank Coppola Jr., Saratoga Gaming and Raceway’s leading driver, broke his own record for wins in a season set in 2008. After piloting 321 winners in '08, Coppola picked up right where he left off and recorded an amazing 341 victories.
  • Trainer, Colin Johnson won the training title for the second consecutive season with 172 wins and a training percentage of nearly .400.
  • Prime Interest, the 2008 Horse of the Year at Saratoga, was the winningest horse at the Spa this year with 14 open trot victories, including the fastest trotting mile of the year when he recorded a 1:55.2 in June.

The 69th harness racing season at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway will commence on Friday, March 5, 2010. For the best seat in the house during live racing, check out Fortunes Restaurant  located trackside for a dining experience unmatched by any other restaurant in the Capital District!
